HostDime to Offer CloudLinux on its VPS and Dedicated Servers

0

(The Hosting News) – Cloud Linux Inc., an innovative software company dedicated to serving the needs of hosting service providers, announces today that HostDime, a leading global Web Hosting organization, will begin to offer CloudLinux on all of its VPS and dedicated servers. HostDime is one of the largest providers of managed hosting services and has a global presence with six international offices and data centers in USA, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, UK, India, and Israel. With a reputation for expert customer service and quality products, HostDime selected CloudLinux to deliver improved performance, security and reliability to its customers.

“HostDime is very pleased to offer CloudLinux,” states Emmanuel Vivar, CEO of HostDime. “As a managed hosting provider we are always looking for quality products that will help us increase efficiency and stability as well as improve the overall performance from our servers. We deployed CloudLinux on our shared hosting servers, and we have seen immediate improvement in reliability. Now we want to offer the same solution to our dedicated server customers.”

CloudLinux’s core technology is Lightweight Virtual Environment™, a kernel-level technology that limits the amount of resources (CPU, concurrent processes) available to a group of processes. While similar to container type virtualization technology, LVE is completely transparent and lightweight. Once installed, the LVE works transparently to manage resources that the hosting provider sets for the accounts on a server. It controls the CPU resources to ensure that each account on a shared server is allocated enough resources to run efficiently without jeopardizing the other tenants on that server, making the server more stable and delivering better performance.

With LVE technology, CloudLinux can deliver performance, reliability and operational benefits for hosting providers including:

Increased uptime since no one account can slow down or take down an entire shared server
Better reliability and performance with a server that is running at peak operating capacity
Better control over CPU resources
Increased density so you can host more tenants on one server
Compatibility with all major control panels for easy management

“Cloud Linux understands the needs of hosting providers in delivering secure, reliable, high performance services to their clients,” states Igor Seletskiy, Cloud Linux Founder and CEO. “Our proven technology can help global providers like HostDime differentiate their services from their competition and deliver quality products to their customers.”

CloudLinux is priced to support all types of hosting providers and is available at a tiered retail monthly price based on the number of servers under management. The CloudLinux Partner Program offers discounts and more competitive pricing and a support model designed to meet the specific requirements of hosting companies as well as an opportunity to leverage the CloudLinux brand.

30 providers go live with OnApp’s cloud management platform in its first 8 weeks

0

London, 22nd September 2010:
OnApp has deployed its unique cloud management platform at 30 hosting providers in the first eight weeks since its launch – confirming the importance of cloud hosting as the future of the hosting industry. OnApp clients have now deployed more than 50 clouds and 35,000 virtual servers on the platform.

The OnApp cloud platform provides an easy way for a web host to set up, configure and manage a cloud hosting operation using off-the-shelf server and storage hardware. Once the cloud is deployed, OnApp provides simple web-based control of clouds, virtual machines, storage and compute resources, users, billing and more.

“There’s a lot of fluff talked about clouds, but for web hosts it’s a very tangible business issue,” said Carlos Rego, MD of OnApp. “Hosting customers want more control over the services they buy. They want to be able to self-provision and scale those services, quickly and easily. They also need more flexibility in the way they pay for services. Cloud hosting meets this market need, but it presents a technical and a business challenge for the host.”

“That’s where OnApp has a unique proposition. We advise on cloud hosting business models, and provide a turnkey cloud platform designed specifically for hosts: affordable, easy to use, easy to manage and quick to deploy,” he said.

Dediserve is one of the recent converts to OnApp. Dediserve offers a wide range of virtual and dedicated hosting services from its HQ in Dublin’s Digital Hub. Aidan Mc Carron, Dediserve’s Managing Director, said:

“Having reviewed a wide range of cloud management solutions, including investing 6 months in our own solution, we were delighted to deploy OnApp. It answered every requirement we identified, and the credentials of the team involved are second to none, globally.”

In a typical host’s hardware environment, OnApp can set up a cloud in about one day. Once a cloud is deployed, it can take as little as 60 seconds for the host to set up a virtual machine and provision a cloud-based service to a customer. OnApp gives hosts a free license for 100 CPU cores for one year, after which licensing takes the form of a simple monthly fee per core and per cloud. As a result, OnApp makes it easy and affordable for a provider to start offering cloud hosting services to its customers, without massive up-front licensing costs.

About OnApp
OnApp is one of the fastest growing cloud platforms in the market, with over 35,000 virtual servers deployed on the platform. Designed for the needs of the hosting market, OnApp enables hosting providers to set up public or private clouds based on commodity hardware, and deploy customizable virtual machines in just a few clicks. OnApp uses multi-hypervisor technology (such as Xen and KVM) to ensure complete security and isolation for virtual machines. It also offers unrivalled scalability, with virtualization management that enables service providers to optimize their use of server resources, creating the potential for significant hardware and energy cost savings.

OnApp has offices in the US and Europe, employs more than 40 staff and can be found at www.onapp.com.

Host Color Deploys Fuscan Linux Cloud To Offer High Availability cPanel Hosting

16

Host Color — a global provider of quality IT Hosting announced this week the launch of Host Color Cloud. Company’s customers can now host websites on High Availability, load-balanced IP based cPanel accounts. The Host Color’s Cloud is build on a fully redundant, scalable infrastructure based on Supermicro Datacenter Blade hardware and powered by enterprise hosting automation platform Fuscan Linux Cloud.

The web hoster announced it begun working on building a Cloud hosting infrastructure in February, 2010. It uses Kernel-based virtual machines, which serve as processing nodes in a Cloud hosting infrastructure powered by Fuscan hosting automation solutions. Host Color runs an EHA, a software automation layer of Fuscan, which enables the company to provide High Availability cPanel/WHM based Shared Cloud accounts.

The web host said in its official news release that its new Cloud infrastructure model creates competitive advantages for small-business owners and enables them to:

  • Manage Cloud accounts with cPanel’s familiar interface “Domain Owner Panel”
  • Use cPanel “Root and Reseller Admin Panel” to create and manage Reseller Cloud Hosting accounts
  • Use load-balanced IP based virtual hosting as a service part of cPanel Cloud accounts
  • Share the resources of a large cluster of virtual machines
  • Host websites on a Fault-Tolerant Cloud storage area network (SAN) replicated for redundancy
  • Have an “Archive copy” of their Cloud hosting account
  • Save financial resources on software licenses and system administration
  • Host a large number of websites and dot-com projects on a load-balanced cluster
  • Use redundant network and premium bandwidth
  • Get their websites hosted in a secure virtual hosting environment protected by dedicated SSL certificate

“We are glad to announce the Host Color Cloud, a highly available, load-balanced IT Hosting service delivered from a fully redundant cloud infrastructure, automated for cPanel/WHM”, said Martin Andreev, a VP of Operations of Host Color LLC. “We are proud that we made moving to the clouds simple and risk-free for everyone. Site owners who used to use cPanel/WHM can now take advantage from Cloud computing, without a need to change the way they manage websites and online applications”, added Mr. Andreev.

The Cloud Infrastructure of Host Color?

Host Color’s new Cloud infrastructure consists of thousands of virtual processing nodes connected to a shared storage area network (SAN). The web hoster uses InfiniBand as communication link between all components of the system for high performance. All cloud accounts are hosted on a Storage Area Network replicated for redundancy and share resources of the whole system.

The implemented Cloud infrastructure model guarantees an operational continuity of all services – HTTP, FTP, E-mail, DNS, Database, etc. When a server part of Host Color Cloud has to be added, removed, configured or reconfigured, the system’s load-balancer automatically reconfigures the system. If there are failed nodes the load-balancer excludes them from the system.

Fuscan Linux Cloud, the enterprise automation platform used by the company, ensures redundancy on a software level (transparent service failover) for Host Color Cloud, while the Supermicro Datacenter Blade hardware technology and InfiniBand provide a hardware level (power, cluster interconnect) redundancy for the company’s infrastructure.

The web Host Color opened its Europe based Cloud in the beginning of July. The new U.S. virtual data center of the company is scheduled for opening in October.
