Limestone Networks, GoDaddy, HostGator — Creative Marketing Tactics
8While making my daily rounds on WebHostingTalk, I noticed the side advertisement with a good looking female in it. Now, as any male knows, when we see an attractive female, our first instinct is to take a look at it. The one company that is best at eye catching images, is none other than GoDaddy. Their marketing strategy is amazing, to say the least and I could only imagine the amount of money they spend annually on advertising. Take a beautiful, known race car driver, and make her your spokesperson, sit back and profit.

The ad that caught my eye on WHT was from Limestone Networks, a dedicated server company based out of Dallas, Texas. You can see a copy of the advertisement above. The original image isn’t static like this one, but I was unable to find a copy of the original. Needless to say, Limestone did an excellent job catching my eye. If you’re familiar with the industry and some of the top dedicated server providers, then I’m sure you know who Limestone is targeting with their “No nerdy green frogs here” ad, none other than SingleHop. While some may look at this advertisement as a stab at SingleHop, I think it’s a strategic marketing move on Limestones part. I can only hope to see a future ad from Singlehop to poke back at Limestone.
Another company I would like to give props to is HostGator, who recently acquired a NASCAR sponsorship with driver Joe Nemechek. You can find more information on the sponsorship in their June newsletter and view pictures of the car on their facebook page.
